UX of Disguise

WEEK ONE

Brief

Design a way to manipulate and deceive perceptual recognition.

Task One

Using two distinct research methods, Artefact analysis and Data physicalisation.

Team Members

Slavi Kaloferov,  Rebecca Hodge,   Munira Kazi,   Dexian Wang(Devin)

First Question: What is the Artefact analysis

1.Artifact Analysis is the study of how people use and conceptualize objects. It is an examination of the object's qualities to better understand its users and the culture in which it typically exists.

Second Question:What is the Data physicalisation?

1.Data physicalization aims to help people explore, understand, and communicate data using computer-supported physical data representations.
2.These representations are called physicalizations and are similar to visualizations - their purely visual counterparts
.

Research for Artefact Analysis

1. We focused on the related items about the disguise.

Artefact Analysis of Mask

1. We list its Artefact Analysis around the surgical mask by analysing its Material, Aesthetic, Interactive, Social, Historical, Political and psychological aspects Ecological and Economic aspects.

Ideas from Artefact Analysis

1. We list its Artefact Analysis around the mask.

Data Physicalisation

1.For our physicalization of Data, we also discover how face masks change women's and men's perceptions of beauty.
2.We mocked up the shape with cardboard, albeit a bit crudely.

Making Prototype

1.We use markers to draw exaggerated expressions on masks to influence others to judge our expressions.
2.Try on a mask to see how it works.

Week One Pressentation & Feedback

1. We need to be more specific.
2. Think about possible scenarios maybe some situation you need to hire your emotion.
3. Masks cannot completely cover up emotions, and body movements will also reveal them.
