UX of Mould


WEEK ONE

Brief

Design a way to materialise the qualities of mould.

Task One

You will be using two distinct research methods, The Love Letter and the Breakup Letter and AEIOU.

First Question: What is The Love Letter and the Breakup Letter?

The Love Letter and the Breakup Letter is to mine the emotional connection we have with a product and find ways to boost its best attributes or fix broken functionality.






Second Question: What is AEIOU?

1 .AEIOU basically stands for Activities, Environments, Interactions, Objects, and Users.
2.It is this framework, that will help you synthesise all the data, and move onto Ideating for design solutions.





Research on Mould

1. We conducted a general survey on mould
2. We found mould on the food around us
3. We also found works related to mould




Tuesday Tutorials

1. We conceived a lot of programs related to mold.
2. Tonicha suggested that we should dig more into AEIOU, we need scenes.






AEIOU Research

We use the kitchen as the scene. Summarize relevant AEIOU records



Concept Explain:

1. According to the research, we hope to make people understand mold better.
2. We make a game for people to experience the feeling of different molds entering the body.
3. Have people blindfolded to sample the mold that randomly enters the body. Most are good, few are harmful.
4. The shape of the dart should give people a feeling of hyphae and spores, and be related to the body




Making Prototype

1. We use the black, blue and pink pages of the magazine to plan three color targets
2. Use ping-pong balls, tape, and wool to make sticky throwing objects with reference to mycelium.





Prototype Test

In order to find the suitable demo distance and throwing action.




Love Letter and Break up Letter

1.Our love letter and break up letter.In order to fit the theme of the mold, we also made the effect of paper growing mold.
2.We refer to food, medicinediseases and some daily bad influences like food rot, bad smell etc.


Week One Pressentation & Feedback

1.We are miles from the real mould .These are all too abstract.
2.We didn't really get into the project, and if we did, we wouldn't want clean people, we wouldn't want dry rooms, and we wouldn't want bright light. We want people who don't take a bath and all kinds of dirty spaces which are suitable for mould.
3.We need real mould in our designs.
